Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said Georgia’s results in infrastructure development would be “even more impressive” than in previous years, citing comprehensive reforms and improved efficiency across the sector.
Kobakhidze told the Government meeting that a number of incorrect practices had previously been established in the infrastructure sphere, all of which have now been fully reviewed, changed and replaced with a system open to fair and transparent competition.
The Prime Minister added these steps would ensure higher quality implementation of projects and improved cost efficiency.
“We can confidently say that our results in this direction will be even more impressive than in past years,” he said.
Kobakhidze added that the Ministry of Infrastructure had developed a “clear and detailed” plan covering road construction, high-speed highways, water supply systems and sports infrastructure. He stressed that all projects must be implemented with maximum quality and cost effectiveness.
The Prime Minister noted that the work carried out in the infrastructure sector over the past year has laid a strong foundation for achieving these goals in the period ahead.
