Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said the country was poised to exceed the International Monetary Fund’s annual growth forecast after new official data showed the economy expanded by 7.6% in the first ten months of the year.

Speaking at a government meeting, Kobakhidze said Georgia was “very likely” to surpass the IMF’s revised projection of 7.2%, describing the latest figures from the National Statistics Office (Geostat) as “further evidence of strong economic momentum.”

According to the Prime Minister, 2025 will mark a historic milestone, with Georgia’s total GDP expected to exceed 100 billion lari for the first time. Nominal GDP per capita was also projected to rise above 10,000 US dollars by year’s end.

Kobakhidze added that GDP per capita measured in purchasing power parity was set to surpass 30,000 dollars - up from around 10,000 dollars eight years ago - calling the trend “clear proof” that the country was developing in the right direction.

He pledged that the government would continue to take measures to ensure Georgia maintains its high growth trajectory.
