Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has welcomed the opening of the Army Camp 2026 programme, describing it as an important initiative that allows young people to experience the values and sense of service associated with military life.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Monday, Kobakhidze said he was pleased that the programme had continued for a fourth consecutive year.
"I am glad that this valuable and important tradition continues. The Army Camp gives young people the opportunity to share in the pride felt by every servicemember in serving their country," he said.
The prime minister noted that the programme will host a total of 1,700 students at facilities in Kojori and at the Mountain Training School in Sachkhere.
Kobakhidze added participants would have the opportunity to observe military life first-hand and learn about the values embraced by members of the armed forces.
He also highlighted a new component added to the programme this year, known as the Patriarchate Hour, which he said would provide participants with an opportunity to discuss Georgia's national and spiritual values.
Describing the initiative as an important project, the prime minister thanked the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Education, the Youth Agency and the instructors involved in its implementation.
He wished participants a successful and memorable experience during their time at the camp.
