Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Jorge Garbajosa, President of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), on Saturday discussed measures to promote basketball in Georgia, as well as future plans for developing the country’s sports infrastructure.
The Government Administration said the officials also reviewed the ongoing U16 EuroBasket - the 37th edition of the European Basketball Championship for men’s national under-16 teams - being hosted in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi between August 8 and 16.
Garbajosa thanked Kobakhidze for hosting the tournament and for its “high-level” organisation, the body added.
The FIBA President also wished success to the Georgian national team in the EuroBasket.
