Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, on Monday nominated two basketball players for the prestigious Orders of Honor. Captain Tornike Shengelia and Giorgi Shermadini have been nominated for the Order of Excellence, with plans for their official awards to take place in the near future.

This announcement comes after a victory by the Georgian national basketball team, who defeated Denmark on February 21 in Tbilisi. The win secured Georgia’s spot in the FIBA EuroBasket for the sixth consecutive time.
