Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has criticized European bureaucracies, claiming they were leading Europe toward a “catastrophe,” and stated that Georgia “must radically oppose” such developments.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Kobakhidze specifically addressed the issue of gender transition for minors, saying it was difficult to evaluate and emphasizing that such practices should not occur in Georgia.

“I don’t even know how to assess this when it comes to gender reassignment by minors. You can see how European bureaucracy is heading toward a catastrophe and trying to drag Europe’s development in that direction. This is a great tragedy, and we must oppose such events radically. Regardless of European bureaucracies’ stance toward us, we must under no circumstances allow these processes in our country,” he said.
