Georgian PM meets Indorama owner to discuss new investments in Rustavi Azot

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze held a meeting with Amit Lohia, owner of the multinational corporation Indorama, which is the investor behind Rustavi Azot, one of the largest producers of mineral fertilizers and industrial chemicals in the region.

According to the Government Administration, the discussion focused on Indorama’s substantial investments in Georgia and upcoming developments planned for the Rustavi-based chemical plant.

Amit Lohia thanked the Georgian government for its continued support and emphasized the favorable investment climate in the country. In response, Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to promoting foreign direct investment, noting that it plays a vital role in driving economic growth and job creation.

Indorama, a global leader in chemical manufacturing, operates more than 160 facilities across nearly 40 countries and employs over 45,000 people worldwide. The company specializes in the production of mineral fertilizers, industrial chemicals, and a wide range of chemical products.

The meeting was attended by Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rustavi Azot Prakash Kejriwal, and board member Eprem Urumashvili.
