Kobakhidze claimed that clarifying certain aspects of the law was both important and necessary

Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Monday stressed that political activity in the country should not receive funding from foreign sources, speaking in connection with proposed amendments to the Law on Grants submitted to Parliament.

He claimed that clarifying certain aspects of the law was both important and necessary.

“Some individuals are trying to exploit loopholes in existing legislation to finance political processes in Georgia. Of course, political activity should not be funded from abroad, and this is precisely the goal of the legislative package initiated in Parliament, which the Parliament of Georgia will adopt,” Kobakhidze said.
