Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said Georgia’s strength was defined not only by political stability or economic growth, but above all by the resilience of its cultural foundation, as cultural figures were awarded state honours at the Presidential Palace.
Speaking at the award ceremony on Thursday, Kobakhidze congratulated the recipients and thanked them for their outstanding contribution to the development of Georgian culture.
“The strength of a country is measured not only by political stability or economic development, but first and foremost by the solidity of its cultural foundation. Art, science, traditions and historical memory are not merely part of the past - they are the main pillars of Georgian identity and our present day,” the Prime Minister stated.
He further stressed that a rich and continuously evolving culture enables the state to preserve its uniqueness and secure a dignified place in the international arena.
Kobakhidze underlined that the awardees played a key role in strengthening this cultural foundation, contributing to the development of Georgian cinema, opera and choral art, national choreography, literature, and the preservation of historical memory.
He described the state awards as a symbolic expression of deep respect for their service and dedication, adding that their professionalism and creative principles set an important example for younger generations.
The awards were presented by President Mikheil Kavelashvili following a joint nomination by Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
