Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said one of the main achievements of the current year was the improvement of the country’s governance system, including the work of the Government itself.

Speaking at today’s Government meeting, Kobakhidze noted that a number of reforms were implemented to make the Government more transparent, accountable and effective.

The Prime Minister noted the composition of the Government had been renewed by half, with seven new ministers joining the cabinet this year. He said these changes had a direct impact on improving the overall quality of Government performance.

“The quality of the Government’s work has significantly improved this year, including as a result of personnel changes. We have implemented numerous reforms to ensure that the government operates with maximum transparency, accountability and efficiency,” Kobakhidze said.

He added that all Government acts were now fully transparent, creating favourable conditions for continuous improvement of the Government’s performance.
