Georgian Prime Minister and chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Irakli Kobakhidze, has praised the role of Bidzina Ivanishvili in the party’s achievements, saying the team’s success was made possible through Ivanishvili’s “exceptional wisdom” and strategic vision.

Addressing party members during the presentation of Zurab Pataradze as chair of the Government of Adjara, Kobakhidze emphasised the importance of unity within the ruling team and reflected on the challenges the party has faced in recent years.

“Our unity has allowed us to care successfully for our country. Our team is successful, and the success of our team brings success to our country. Without unity and standing together, this success would not have been possible,” Kobakhidze said, thanking party members for their contribution.

The Prime Minister noted that the party had gone through “very difficult years” since 2011, with a new wave of challenges emerging after 2020, including parliamentary and regional elections, followed by the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022.

He said that despite “significant pressure” on the party and its members, unity had enabled the Government to navigate the crises and maintain stability in the country.

“Today, the country is calm, there is peace and the economy is developing. The most important thing is to preserve and strengthen these achievements,” Kobakhidze stated.

He also underlined the significance of leadership during difficult periods, singling out Ivanishvili for what he described as his decisive contribution to the party’s and country’s progress.

“It is thanks to his exceptional wisdom and strategic calculations that we were able to achieve success,” Kobakhidze said.

He added that Ivanishvili deserved “special gratitude” from both party members and the Georgian public for his leadership.
