The Georgian government will finalize a decree to grant promised bonuses to Olympians, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on Monday.

Kobakhidze said not only will Olympic athletes receive their bonuses, but also coaches, doctors, and administrative staff associated with the Olympic teams will benefit from increased rewards.

He highlighted that Olympic champions and prize winners have been honored with the Order of Victory named after St. George and the Order of Honor. Notably, Nino Salukvadze and Lasha Shavdatuashvili, both Olympic champions and multi-discipline medalists, will receive the Order of Victory. Guram Tushishvili and Lasha Margvelashvili, vice-champions of the Tokyo Olympics, will be awarded the Order of Honor.

Kobakhidze also recognized the coaches of the athletes, listing several by name, and emphasized the “vital role” of coaching in achieving athletic success.
