Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze said his country was looking forward to further strengthening trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan, including increased investment cooperation, during a joint briefing with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Tbilisi on Monday.

Kobakhidze noted that Azerbaijan remained one of Georgia’s largest trading partners and highlighted discussions with Aliyev on the prospects for expanding economic cooperation.

“We are pleased that Azerbaijan continues to be one of Georgia’s largest trade partners. We expect that trade and economic relations will deepen further, including closer cooperation in investment growth. We expressed our readiness to continue high-level dialogue and to further expand cooperation across different sectors,” Kobakhidze said.

The PM added that ongoing collaboration would benefit both nations and their peoples, and that Aliyev’s visit played a special role in advancing bilateral relations.

“Finally, Mr. President, I would like to thank you again for visiting Georgia and for your personal contribution to deepening and developing bilateral relations between our countries,” Kobakhidze concluded.
