Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said that negotiations were under way to expand the scope of the existing free trade agreement between Georgia and China, with further talks expected to define specific details.

Kobakhidze noted that discussions were ongoing and that concrete outcomes would only be clarified once negotiations are concluded.

“Negotiations are ongoing on expanding the agreement’s scope, and detailed talks will take place on this matter. All topics will be discussed, including the Anaklia issue,” he said, adding that the current visit of the Economy Minister to China would further support the development of bilateral trade.

The prime minister stressed that the visit was expected to strengthen economic ties between the two countries, while broader discussions remain in progress.
