Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday announced the construction of 30 technical stadiums nationwide, along with eight full-scale stadiums in different cities, would begin next year as part of a broader effort to develop sports infrastructure across the country.

Speaking at the Best Athlete of 2025 awards ceremony, Kobakhidze said the Government had planned a number of major projects aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure and promoting both mass participation and high-performance sport.

“We have very important projects planned. Across the entire country, we want to develop sports infrastructure. Multifunctional sports centres should be built in every municipality to serve various sports disciplines. All of this will, of course, contribute to the development of both grassroots and elite sport,” the Prime Minister said.
