Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said that the coming year is likely to be marked by significant changes, including in relations with the European Union.

Speaking on Imedi LIVE, Kobakhidze noted that the Government will make every effort to normalise and improve its relations with the EU.

“I think the next year will be full of many changes, including in terms of the European Union. We will see how these processes develop,” the prime minister said.

He said the Government is approaching the issue with caution and strategic patience, awaiting possible shifts in attitudes from the EU side.

“We are waiting with careful and strategic patience for a change in attitudes and will see how these processes unfold. Given that European bureaucracy lacks the resources to act fully sovereignly, optimism may not have a very solid foundation, but let us still look to the future with optimism. We must do everything possible to normalise relations with the European Union,” Kobakhidze stated.

The Prime Minister highlighted that despite existing challenges, Georgia remains committed to constructive engagement with the EU and hopes that upcoming developments will create new opportunities for improving relations.
