Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Thursday announced the government’s decision to extend the systematic registration of land, offering citizens “an opportunity” to register their land plots free of charge until the end of 2025.

Speaking at a Government session, the PM noted the land registration reform, which has already measured 1.5 million plots and officially registered 1 million, had been a “critical step” in granting property ownership to over a million citizens.

“Systematic land registration is one of the important reforms that have been implemented. Thanks to the Ministry of Justice, we have achieved significant results,” the Prime Minister said.

Kobakhidze highlighted the “large-scale nature” of the work, noting that between 3,500 and 4,000 plots of land had been measured and registered daily. He emphasized that there were still citizens who have yet to register their land, but they will now have the chance to do so at no cost until 2025.
