Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday praised the Ministry of Internal Affairs for its “flawless” special operation during yesterday’s unrest, calling on countries such as France, Germany, and the Netherlands to take note of Georgia’s approach when facing similar challenges.

Speaking at a briefing, Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to all law-enforcement units involved, including the police, special forces, and the State Security Service, which he said acted preventively and with maximum efficiency.

“The MIA conducted a flawless special operation that neutralised attempts to overthrow or violently alter the constitutional order. I urge, for example, the French, Germans, and Dutch to take example from the MIA’s operation yesterday, when they themselves face such challenges”, he said.

Kobakhidze also thanked State Security Service chief Mamuka Mdinareishvili, noting the agency acted preventively to avert potential problems, in accordance with its confidential mandate.

The Prime Minister concluded that the country’s peaceful development will continue, emphasising that citizens’ participation in the elections demonstrated support for maintaining stability and advancing national progress.
