Georgian Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed gratitude to Viktor Orbán for his steadfast support of Georgia, highlighting the close and growing partnership between the two countries.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest, Kobakhidze said Hungary is more than a partner to Georgia—it is a country connected through shared values and mutual respect. He emphasised that cooperation between Georgia and Hungary continues to develop across multiple sectors and is expected to strengthen further in the coming years.
Kobakhidze also criticised Brussels bureaucracy, which he said fails to respect sovereign governments that defend their independence and traditional values, contrasting it with Hungary’s patriotic government, which he praised for protecting the country from gender propaganda, uncontrolled migration, and other challenges facing Europe today.
He expressed hope that Hungary’s upcoming parliamentary elections would take place without external interference, stressing that democracy must prevail over outside pressures.
“Personally, I wish to thank Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for Georgia’s strong support. He is a true fighter for his country; his words and actions consistently demonstrate respect and care for the Georgian people,” Kobakhidze said.
The Georgian Prime Minister added that without Orbán’s strong leadership and bold stance against Brussels bureaucracy, it would have been far more difficult for Georgia to safeguard its democracy, national sovereignty, and identity. He described Orbán’s leadership as important not only for Hungary but for Europe as a whole, wishing him a long tenure in office.
Kobakhidze concluded by sending his best wishes to all those committed to defending national independence, preserving traditional values, and respecting citizens’ democratic choices amid rising ideological pressures.
