Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday congratulated the American people on the 250th anniversary of US Independence, describing the occasion as a celebration of the enduring ideals of freedom, sovereignty and self-determination.
Speaking at a reception hosted by the US Embassy in Tbilisi to mark US Independence Day, Kobakhidze said he was honoured to join the celebration on behalf of the Georgian Government and the Georgian people.
"On behalf of the Government of Georgia and the Georgian people, I warmly congratulate the American people on this remarkable anniversary," he said.
The Prime Minister said the principles enshrined in the US Declaration of Independence had shaped not only America's constitutional system but also a society that became a global leader in innovation, science, education, entrepreneurship and culture.
He added that the United States had left a lasting mark on the modern world through scientific breakthroughs, technological innovation, literature, cinema and the arts, describing the country as one of the world's leading sovereign states and a key driver of global progress.
