Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has voiced optimism that the new administration of US President Donald Trump will play a stronger role in promoting global peace. Speaking at the Tbilisi Regional Forum on Sustainable Development on Thursday, Kobakhidze expressed Georgia’s readiness to cooperate with all nations – including major powers – committed to peace and economic progress.

"In today’s world, full of great challenges and ongoing conflicts, the importance of peace cannot be overstated," the Prime Minister said. "We welcome the messages from the new US President that emphasize peace, and we hope that under the Trump administration, peace will be further encouraged throughout the world."

Kobakhidze also praised China’s international stance, describing it as a model for peaceful development. "China is a superpower that has not participated in a single war over the past 45 years. From the very beginning, it has focused on modernization, economic development, and progress – and the results are visible," he noted.

He went on to underscore the critical role of global powers in maintaining peace and stability, suggesting that China’s example should be emulated by others. "We should appreciate the role of this state in ensuring greater peace not only in the region but globally."
