Georgian PM says he held ‘productive’ call with US Secretary of State

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said he had a “productive” telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, highlighting the importance of renewing bilateral ties.

Writing on social media platform X, Kobakhidze said the discussion focused on resetting the partnership between Georgia and the United States and strengthening Georgia’s role as a key partner in the South Caucasus.

“We emphasised the importance of resetting our partnership and reinforcing Georgia’s role as a strong partner in the South Caucasus,” he said.

“Committed to strengthening Georgia–US ties and advancing regional stability and connectivity,” he added.
