PM Kobakhidze argued that such developments ultimately benefit the government, adding that opposition parties “can continue like this” if they choose

Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, has said difficulties within the opposition were ultimately contributing to the ruling authorities’ consolidation of power.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Kobakhidze described the situation in opposition ranked as “difficult”, attributing it to a combination of past and present factors.

He also alleged that opposition groups were influenced by external actors, claiming their actions were shaped by outside direction.

“They are in a difficult situation, and the reasons are multiple: their past, their present, and most importantly the fact that they are externally managed,” he said.

Kobakhidze argued that such developments ultimately benefit the government, adding that opposition parties “can continue like this” if they choose.
