Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said the newly opened Paragraph Tabori complex in Tbilisi was designed to give “a new impetus” to the development of the capital and the country as a whole.
Located on Mount Tabori in Tbilisi, Paragraph Tabori Resort & Spa — a premium-class hotel and urban complex that is part of the Marriott Autograph Collection brand — includes the capital’s first top-level golf club, a spa center, and an innovative cable car linking the resort directly with Freedom Square. With more than ₾500 million ($184.52mln) invested, the project aims to strengthen Tbilisi’s position as a European-level tourism and business hub.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kobakhidze thanked Bidzina Ivanishvili, the project’s initiator, stressing that his philanthropic efforts “are not focused on profit but on providing new momentum to the development of Georgia”.
“This project, like others initiated by Ivanishvili, is distinguished by its orientation toward strengthening the city, the region, and the country rather than financial gain,” he said, noting that the investment will create hundreds of well-paid jobs and long-term economic opportunities.
Kobakhidze added that Paragraph Tabori is part of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund’s expanding hotel network, which already operates in Tbilisi and Sighnaghi and is set to extend to Abastumani.
“This complex will bring new charm and energy to our capital and become a model for modern urban development,” the Prime Minister said.
