Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday welcomed the Gaza ceasefire agreement, calling it a hopeful milestone on the path toward peace.

In a post on social media platform X, Kobakhidze emphasised the importance of diplomatic efforts that led to the deal.

“President Trump’s decisive diplomacy, supported by the mediation efforts of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, played a key role in achieving this agreement,” Kobakhidze wrote.

He added that the immediate release of hostages would lay the foundation for lasting peace, which he described as a shared global responsibility.
