PM Kobakhidze: Georgian people chose peace and bright, European future

Georgian Dream’s campaign leader and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze highlighted the significance of the ruling party’s recent electoral victory, stating that it represents the people’s clear choice for peace, development, and a European future.

“These elections were a turning point for the country, with the Georgian people making the only viable choice: peace, progress, and a bright European future,” Kobakhidze said, emphasizing the party’s win with approximately 1,120,000 votes, marking a record turnout since 2012. The election saw Georgian Dream securing a substantial lead with a 43% margin over the nearest opposition party.

“We hold a 43% lead over the second-place party, which is fine times behind with their results. As for the opposition, let me share some brief data: in the previous elections in 2021, the radical opposition received over 845,000 votes. This time, they managed only 770,000 votes. This indicates that not only has our rating and support for Georgian Dream significantly increased during this challenging period over the past four years, but support for the radical opposition has also declined within Georgian society,” the PM stressed.

Kobakhidze also addressed Georgian Dream’s commitment to socio-economic growth, forecasting a 130-billion-lari economy in four years, a reduction in unemployment to below 4%, and significant increases in average wages. He credited law enforcement and the Central Election Commission (CEC) for ensuring a peaceful and well-managed election, with the majority of polling stations using electronic voting systems for the first time.

Expressing gratitude to Georgian voters, Kobakhidze concluded that this election solidifies a future focused on peace and growth for all Georgian citizens, reinforcing a commitment to fulfilling Georgian Dream’s development plans in the years to come.
