Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said Georgia plays a strategically important role for Central Asian countries by providing a link to the Black Sea and Western markets, highlighting the importance of deeper economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking to Georgian journalists during his visit to Kyrgyzstan, Kobakhidze said strengthening trade, economic ties and regional connectivity is in the interests of both countries.
"Naturally, for Kyrgyzstan, as well as for all Central Asian countries, economic and trade cooperation with Georgia and stronger connectivity are important," Kobakhidze said.
The prime minister argued that Georgia's geographical position makes it a key transit partner for the region.
"The reason is simple - Georgia ultimately connects all five Central Asian countries to the Black Sea and the Western space," he said.
According to Kobakhidze, this creates a strong foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, transport and logistics.
He added that while closer ties are important for Kyrgyzstan, Georgia also stands to benefit from deeper economic cooperation with Central Asian partners.
