Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has emphasized the importance of the Georgian-Hungarian intergovernmental summit format in advancing bilateral ties. Speaking at a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Kobakhidze said that this framework, established two years ago, is now holding its second meeting.
“This meeting has allowed us to discuss the progress we have made and to set our joint future plans,” Kobakhidze said. He thanked Prime Minister Orbán and the Hungarian ministers for their “very interesting discussions,” highlighting that a broad range of topics had been covered.
“We discussed various issues related to the development of our bilateral relations, including trade and economic cooperation, energy and connectivity, environmental protection, agriculture, defense, justice, education, and culture. This format touches upon all these areas,” Kobakhidze noted. “It can be said with confidence that there is tremendous potential for further deepening our relations in all directions, and we will do everything to maximize that potential.”
The Georgian Prime Minister also expressed his satisfaction that several memorandums of understanding were signed during the summit, which he said would further strengthen and deepen relations between Georgia and Hungary.
Kobakhidze stressed that the close political ties between the two countries are demonstrated by the frequent exchange of visits and meetings. He also underlined the importance of collaboration not only between the two governments but also among their business sectors to further boost economic and trade partnerships.
“We attach great importance to every aspect of this cooperation and look forward to its future development,” Kobakhidze concluded.
