Georgian Prime Minister and Georgian Dream Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze has said Georgia is ahead of all EU candidate countries and several EU member states on economic indicators linked to the country’s economic progress.
Kobakhidze made the comments in response to a report published by the Chandler Institute of Governance, which ranked the Georgian government among Europe’s top 20 for its role in fostering a favourable environment for the private sector.
“You know that we have a very sound economic policy, and our approach towards the private sector is, of course, part of this,” Kobakhidze said.
He said Georgia was performing strongly across all areas and claimed the country was ahead of not only EU candidate countries but also a number of EU member states on all economic indicators related to economic progress.
“Therefore, this ranking is absolutely logical,” Kobakhidze said.
