Georgian Prime Minister and ruling Georgian Dream Chair Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday announced the ruling party had secured more than 70 percent of the vote in all municipalities in Georgia’s local self-government elections.

“According to the results published by the Central Election Commission, as our election headquarters had predicted, in reality, our outcome exceeds 70 percent in every municipality,” Kobakhidze said.

He also highlighted the high voter turnout: “The activity reached more than 1,430,000 people nationwide, which is a very strong result for local self-government elections”.

Kobakhidze thanked citizens for participating in the vote, underlining their civic responsibility, and expressed gratitude to Georgian Dream supporters for their trust.

“We once again pledge that this trust will be fully justified. From today, we will work on the development of every municipality across all directions,” he stressed.

The Prime Minister also thanked everyone involved in the campaign process, including local and regional election headquarters. He gave special recognition to Dimitri Samkharadze, who coordinated regional work, and Levan Matchavariani, head of the Tbilisi headquarters.

“Once again, I want to congratulate all our supporters on this victory and, in fact, the entire country - because this outcome was crucial to ensure Georgia’s peaceful development and the advancement of each municipality,” Kobakhidze concluded.
