More than a third of Georgia’s budget has been dedicated to social issues, while infrastructure spending has also been adequately accounted for, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a briefing on the draft budget.

Kobakhidze described the draft as a “maximally balanced document” that reflects social priorities as broadly as possible.

“Over a third of the budget is allocated to social issues, including healthcare, social support, and related areas. In addition, infrastructure expenditures are properly represented. Capital expenditures exceed 8 billion lari, which is fully incorporated into the state budget. This ensures the development of infrastructure while stimulating the economy. The budget also includes spending linked to specific reforms, including education reform. All priorities are balanced within the state budget,” he said.
