Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday accused non-governmental organisations of direct involvement in what he called anti-state activities.

Speaking to reporters, Kobakhidze claimed that several NGOs had participated in revolutionary processes, both in Georgia and abroad, and stressed that the matter now rests with investigators.

“We all know very well that NGOs were directly involved in anti-state activities. This has also been acknowledged by the current US administration, which confirmed that through USAID, NED, and other funds, certain organisations were engaged in such actions not only in Georgia but in other countries as well”, the PM said.

“They were part of revolutionary processes. The rest is a matter for investigation, and everyone is obliged to cooperate with investigators”, he added.
