Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has once again accused Georgia’s opposition parties of being “a collective of foreign agents” acting under the direction of external powers. Speaking to reporters Thursday, Kobakhidze described their activities as an act of “betrayal against the country and its people.”
“The radical opposition is a collective of foreign agents, operating in coordination with their masters. This is a betrayal of their own country and their own people,” Kobakhidze said.
The prime minister claimed that Georgian society recognizes this alleged coordination and had consistently rejected what he called “radicalism and foreign influence.”
“The public understands this very well, and that is precisely why, for two consecutive years, more than 1,100,000 people have come out to vote, supporting the ruling party and once again saying no to radicalism and foreign agency,” he added.
