Kobakhidze praised the work of Georgia’s diplomatic corps, saying their voice had been clearly and confidently heard internationally during the past year

Georgia plays an important role in strengthening peace in the South Caucasus, and the efforts of the country’s diplomatic corps in this direction must continue, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said.

Speaking at the Ambassadors’ Conference, Kobakhidze said Georgian diplomats served as the country’s voice on the international stage and stressed the importance of maintaining a firm and well-argued position guided by national interests.

He said one of the government’s main priorities was to further strengthen Georgia’s role as a regional hub for connectivity and transit. According to the prime minister, progress had been made in this area over the past year, though further work would be required in the coming years.

Kobakhidze praised the work of Georgia’s diplomatic corps, saying their voice had been clearly and confidently heard internationally during the past year and expressing confidence that this approach would continue.

He also thanked Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, her deputies, ministry staff, ambassadors and diplomatic mission employees for what he described as their significant contribution to protecting Georgia’s national interests.

Concluding his address, the prime minister wished members of the diplomatic corps success in the coming year and extended New Year greetings ahead of 2026.
