PM Kobakhidze says Georgia welcomes US–Iran ceasefire announcement

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has welcomed the reported ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope it will contribute to regional stability.

In a statement posted on Wednesday on the social media platform X, Kobakhidze praised the mediation efforts that led to the development.

“Georgia welcomes the announced ceasefire between the United States and Iran and commends the effective mediation efforts that facilitated it,” he said.

“We hope this step will contribute to de-escalation and encourage continued diplomatic engagement to secure lasting peace and stability in the region,” the PM added.
