Georgia’s new five-year cooperation framework with the United Nations will serve as the foundation for future partnership, aligning national priorities with the spirit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at the signing ceremony of the 2026–2030 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
Speaking at the event on Tuesday, Kobakhidze stressed that despite global, economic and geopolitical challenges, Georgia has transformed into a country that is no longer merely a recipient of assistance but a reliable partner on the international stage.
“It is an honour to host the signing of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Georgia and the United Nations,” the Prime Minister said.
He noted that Georgia’s cooperation with the UN spanned more than three decades, during which joint efforts had strengthened state institutions, supported prosperity, advanced reforms and contributed to peacebuilding.
“This year, as the world marks the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter, global challenges remain significant. Yet, over the years, our country has evolved into a state that is not only a beneficiary of assistance but also a trustworthy partner and an example to others. This progress has been driven by consistent reforms and a peace-oriented policy,” Kobakhidze claimed.
