Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday said the Government had launched work on a comprehensive 10-year development strategy aimed at guiding the country’s long-term economic and social progress.

Speaking in an interview with China’s state broadcaster CCTV on the programme Leaders Talk, Kobakhidze highlighted the importance of strategic planning in ensuring Georgia’s consistent and sustainable development.

“Strategic planning is truly essential for securing steady national progress, which is why we are fully focused on developing a high-quality document”, the Prime Minister said.

Kobakhidze added the upcoming 10-year strategy would serve as a roadmap for Georgia’s development, addressing key areas such as economic growth, education reform and social welfare.

“We have recently started working on this document. Economic development is our top priority, and we are also focused on reforming the education system and implementing social reforms. The document will be presented to the Georgian public and I believe it will serve as a high-quality guide for the country’s development”, he noted.

Kobakhidze highlighted that strengthening Georgia’s strategic role as a transit hub remains a core element of the Government’s economic vision.

“Connectivity is one of our main priorities and education will also be a major area of investment, as we believe that well-educated generations can best contribute to the country’s economic advancement”, he added.
