Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Georgia holds a key role in the South Caucasus region and continues to make a positive contribution to regional peace and stability. Speaking to Georgian journalists during his visit to Albania for the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia’s commitment to maintaining this constructive role in the future.

"Georgia has a crucial role in the South Caucasus. Throughout the years, we have played a positive role in strengthening peace in the region, and we will continue acting in this spirit," the Prime Minister said.

Kobakhidze highlighted several ongoing strategic projects that Georgia is implementing in cooperation with neighboring countries, aimed at improving connectivity across the region.

"We serve as a bridge connecting our two neighboring countries — Azerbaijan and Armenia — with Europe. Georgia is engaged in major connectivity projects with these neighbors. This is not only vital for our region, but also for Europe and the EU's connectivity with the South Caucasus," he noted.

He specifically mentioned the Black Sea submarine cable project, among others, as initiatives that will enhance regional and European connectivity. "We are fully open to cooperation in this regard and will continue to actively pursue such projects in the future," Kobakhidze added.
