Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said that Georgia’s current stability is the result of a deliberate and pragmatic policy, rather than coincidence, as he addressed the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest.
Speaking at the forum, Kobakhidze highlighted the growing uncertainty in the global environment, pointing to the ongoing war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East as reminders of the human cost of geopolitical tensions.
“Georgia knows this very well,” he said, expressing hope that peace would soon be restored in neighbouring regions and that military confrontation would give way to diplomatic and political dialogue.
Kobakhidze stressed that, at a time when the international system is increasingly shaped by conflict, Georgia has chosen a different path focused on connectivity and cooperation rather than confrontation.
“The stability that Georgia enjoys today is not accidental. It is the result of a conscious and pragmatic policy,” he said, adding that predictable governance and a commitment to peace have played a key role in strengthening the country’s economy and resilience.
He noted that Georgia has recorded one of the fastest economic growth rates in Europe, with an average annual growth of 9.3 per cent since 2021.
The Prime Minister also pointed to ongoing transformation in the South Caucasus, saying new opportunities are emerging for peace, connectivity and economic cooperation.
Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s support for initiatives promoting stability, dialogue and regional partnership, adding that the region’s future should be defined by trade and cooperation rather than conflict and division.
