Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday stressed the importance of deepening cooperation between Georgia and Armenia, highlighting mutual respect and shared interests as the foundation of their bilateral relations.

Speaking at a joint press briefing with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Kobakhidze noted that the meeting provided an opportunity for a productive discussion on various aspects of the countries’ cooperation.

“I would like to once again welcome my Armenian colleague, Mr. Nikol Pashinyan, and the Armenian delegation to Georgia. Today, the 15th session of the Georgia-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held, attended by representatives of the respective governments and ministers. The discussions covered multiple topics related to our countries’ collaboration. We recognize the complex regional situation, and in this context, it is especially important to further strengthen cooperation between our countries,” Kobakhidze said.

He highlighted that the relationship between Georgia and Armenia was grounded in historical friendship and strategic partnership, adding that both nations shared a high level of cooperation and a continuous interest in expanding their ties.

“This cooperation is based on mutual respect and common interests. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Armenia for supporting and respecting our national interests, particularly Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I also expressed gratitude during the commission session for Armenia’s support at the United Nations regarding resolutions on forcibly displaced persons,” the Georgian Prime Minister said.
