Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met with Israel’s newly appointed ambassador to Georgia, Walid Abu-Haya, the government administration announced.

According to officials, the meeting was of a courtesy nature, during which the prime minister congratulated the ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission and wished him success.

“The discussion highlighted the long-standing friendship and close partnership between Georgia and Israel. They explored opportunities to deepen cooperation across various sectors, including trade, economic ties, and tourism,” the statement said.

The talks also touched on the situation in the Middle East, with the prime minister emphasizing the importance of ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.
