Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze criticized President Salome Zurabishvili and the opposition parties for supporting what he referred to as “LGBT propaganda.” Kobakhidze suggested that this stance was not a matter of personal choice, but rather the result of external directives.

“Salome Zurabishvili, like the entire radical opposition, has taken the side of LGBT propaganda. This is their choice—or rather, it’s not really their choice but their assignment,” Kobakhidze told reporters.

He emphasized that the recently adopted law Family Values and Protection of Minors, initiated by the ruling party, Georgian Dream, has overwhelming support from the public, with more than 90% in favor.

“We are in the midst of an election period, and it’s well known that over 90% of the population supports this law. The most recent survey showed 92% approval. If, even at a time like this, you can’t stand with the overwhelming majority of the public, it means you are acting on assignments, not in the interests of your people,” Kobakhidze added.
