Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday addressed journalists over the recent searches conducted at the homes of two employees from the Atlantic Council, Sopo Gelava and Eto Buziashvili,as well as the Georgian office of the American company Concentrix.

The searches are allegedly part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of group money laundering and fraud.

“Let’s wait for the investigation information. This information can be very interesting for the public,” Kobakhidze claimed, encouraging patience as the investigation unfolds.

The investigative service of the Ministry of Finance on Thursday said it had executed the searches based on “operational information” related to criminal call centers, which had been identified in previous investigations.

According to the agency’s press service, searches were also conducted at three offices, with a court ruling obtained prior to the operations.

The investigation allegedly encompasses several serious charges, including money laundering, fraud and tax evasion.

In addition to Gelava and Buziashvili, searches were also carried out at the apartments of Onise and Sandro Tskhadadze, as well as Valeri Tkeshelashvili.
