The number of detainees related to the October 4 violence is expected to rise, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists on Saturday, noting that the Government had previously warned all participants about the identification capabilities of law enforcement.

“We had warned everyone that we possessed greater resources to identify violent offenders than before. Therefore, it is logical to expect that the number of arrests will increase,” Kobakhidze said.

The Prime Minister noted that all individuals identified as perpetrators would be held accountable.

“When such large-scale violence is carried out against state institutions, it is crucial for the Government to respond decisively to prevent similar attempts in the future and we will see this process through to the end,” he added.
