Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Georgian society has clearly demonstrated its stance on the political landscape, arguing that the opposition is “absolutely destroyed” as a result of losing public trust. His comments came during an interview with Imedi Live on July 4, in response to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's recent critical resolution on Georgia.

Kobakhidze dismissed international assessments, stating that “what truly matters is what is happening inside the country, and the Georgian people see that best.”

“We are used to debates, polemics, and even critical remarks from foreign bureaucrats and politicians. But ultimately, it’s the reaction of Georgian society that matters most,” the Prime Minister said. “And today, it’s evident to everyone how Georgian society views political processes and actors. The public’s response is clear—the opposition has been completely destroyed.”

He attributed the opposition’s current state to a loss of even the limited support it once had, calling that “the most important assessment made by society.”

Kobakhidze also criticized what he described as foreign interference, claiming there had been “four attempts at revolution over the past four years,” all externally orchestrated. He praised Georgian society for defending the country’s sovereignty and resisting these pressures.

“Despite attempts to undermine our democratic system, the state stood firm. The democratic system in Georgia is established, and society rose to the occasion to protect independence and sovereignty,” Kobakhidze said.
