Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday met with Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Maçut during the World Government Summit in Dubai to discuss expanding cooperation between the two countries.

The Georgian Government Administration said the leaders highlighted the potential for deepening collaboration across various sectors.

"The opening of the Serbian embassy in Georgia and the launch of direct flights between our countries were positively assessed," the statement read.

"These developments are expected to strengthen trade, economic, and people-to-people ties, while promoting tourism and cultural exchanges”, the press office added.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of the Georgia-Serbia Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation as a platform for advancing sectoral links. Both sides noted the significance of initiating negotiations on a free trade agreement to further stimulate economic collaboration.

Prime Minister Kobakhidze commented on the meeting via social media platform X, noting the “positive dynamics in Georgia-Serbia relations, reflected in regular high-level dialogue and growing sectoral cooperation,” and stressed discussions on further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
