Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze thanked Tajikistan for its continued support of Georgia's national interests, sovereignty and territorial integrity during talks with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda.
Speaking during their meeting in Dushanbe, Kobakhidze described his visit as a historic occasion, noting that it marks the first official visit by a Georgian prime minister to Tajikistan.
"This is a historic moment. The first high-level official visit from Georgia to Tajikistan is taking place," Kobakhidze said.
The Georgian prime minister emphasized the longstanding ties between the two nations, saying their relationship is rooted in historical traditions and friendship.
"Our nations and countries are closely connected through historical traditions and friendship, and it is our responsibility to do everything possible to strengthen our partnership and cooperation," he said.
Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia's commitment to expanding bilateral relations and expressed gratitude for Tajikistan's support on issues of key importance to Tbilisi.
"I would like to thank Tajikistan for its strong support and protection of Georgia's national interests. Thank you for respecting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is of special importance to our country," Kobakhidze said.
He also thanked Rasulzoda and the Tajik government for hosting the Georgian delegation at the highest level during the official visit.
