Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said any resolution adopted without objective assessments would carry no value for Georgian society.
He made the remarks in response to a journalist’s question regarding a draft resolution on Georgia that is set to be presented at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe session today.
Kobakhidze criticised the body’s current state, calling it “tragic,” and recalled that the previous resolution also reflected this situation.
“You know our position toward PACE’s current state, and that is why we suspended our activities within the Assembly. The situation is truly tragic. The previous resolution adopted there also reflected this grave state of affairs. You remember that it directly called for snap elections, despite the fact that observer missions recognised the elections as properly conducted. So, of course, no one is surprised by this type of resolution. However, in the eyes of Georgian society, these resolutions have no value. If a resolution is not based on objective assessments, it cannot have any value for Georgian society,” Kobakhidze said.
