Georgian PM meets Turkish Health Minister to deepen cooperation in healthcare

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Kemal Memişoğlu, Turkey’s Minister of Health, who is on an official visit to Georgia, to discuss ways to strengthen strategic partnership and cooperation in the healthcare sector.
The Georgian Government Administration on Tuesday said the meeting had highlighted the “tangible results” of close collaboration between the two countries in improving access to quality medical services and ensuring affordability of medicines.
The discussion also underscored “productive cooperation” with Turkish clinics in enhancing pediatric oncology services. Prime Minister Kobakhidze thanked Minister Memişoğlu for Turkey’s support of Georgia’s healthcare system and expressed hope that a memorandum of understanding between the two health ministries will further advance bilateral partnership.
The meeting was attended by Mikheil Sarjveladze, Georgia’s Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, and Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Government Administration.
