PM Kobakhidze discusses energy cooperation, regional stability with Turkmen President

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan on the sidelines of a United Nations conference, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.
According to the Georgian government’s press service, the two leaders reviewed the current state of relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan and explored opportunities to deepen trade and economic ties.
Special emphasis was placed on the energy sector, where both sides noted the positive momentum in their partnership. The discussions included prospects for transporting Turkmen natural gas to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor.
The leaders also highlighted the importance of peace and regional stability, stressing the need for continued efforts to maintain security across the wider region.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze extended an official invitation to President Berdimuhamedov to visit Georgia.
